After World War II the stock of draft horses in Poland wasn’t impressive, both in terms of numbers as well as their quality. Taking that into account, the then  Central Management For Horse Breeding decided to create state stud farms of this type. One of many farms which were brought to being at that time was Nowe Jankowice Stud Farm. It started its activity on 1st June 1952 ( initially it was called Lisnowo Zamek).  Due to its great significance for national breeding of cold-blooded horses and dairy cattle, Nowe Jankowice Stud now belongs to the group of strategic companies of Agricultural Estate Agency. Both mares as well as stallions provide a priceless genetic basis used by all domestic breeders as it is the only pedigree stud farm raising cold-blooded horses in Poland.

Nowe Jankowice is a village situated in Kujawsko-Pomorskie province, District Łasin. The stud farm can be easily found on the Pomerania – Masuria tourist trail, on the way from Grudziądz to Olsztyn. Picturesque and diverse postglacial landscape, numerous lakes and the richness of nature certainly encourage to visit this part of Poland.

Since the beginning of its existence, Nowe Jankowice Stud Farm has been formed by 6 closely-cooperating farms, namely Nowe Jankowice, Lisnowo, Mędrzyce, Szarnoś, Bogdanki and Widlice Farms as well as  Machine and Repair Shop in Łasin which offers repair services.

An additional attraction of Nowe Jankowice Stud Farm are three palaces ( in Nowe Jankowice, Lisnowo and Bogdanki) and two manor houses (in Mędrzyce and Widlice), all dating back to the end of 19th century. All the monuments are in the custody of the Province Conservation Officer.

The company runs agricultural activity covering the area of about 2500 ha. An important part of this activity is growing winter rape and cereals, mainly consumer wheat. Additionally to horse breeding ( the total amount of horses bred in Nowe Jankowice is about 250), the farm deals with stock-farming (about 1200 hed of cattle) and is a significant producer of cow’s milk.
